Grey PVC

Grey PVC thrives on reinvention, rejecting artistic stagnation in favor of constant stylistic evolution. A San Francisco-based artist with roots in graffiti, he spent over a decade refining his craft on streets, subways, and trains worldwide before transitioning to the studio. His current work—precise vinyl imagery on stretched vinyl and parchment—channels the rebellious spirit of ’70s and ’80s subcultures, blending themes of vice, vandalism, and typography. Obsessively deconstructing letterforms, his compositions balance chaotic energy with the calculated precision of digital media.
Melvin has exhibited internationally, including as a guest artist at Fondazione Prada in Milan, and in San Francisco at the Arts Commission Gallery, Southern Exposure, Fifty24SF, and 111 Minna. His work has been featured in The Art of Getting Over, Thrasher, Mass Appeal, The Source, XLR8R, and While You Were Sleeping, cementing his place in both graffiti history and contemporary art.
